+ Background:
Remix ⟷ Culture has received a grant to conduct a project in Chefchaouen around Rhoum Bakkali’s all-women Sufi ensemble. The project will take place in October and November 2019, bringing together field recording, filmmaking, community-building, and remixing.

We are accepting applications for a field producer who will be responsible for some key logistical needs for the project.
+ Duties:
- Working closely with project director Hatim Belyamani on an as-needed basis throughout all phases of the project, specifically:
- September - Planning
- Identify and recommend the best options in Chefchaouen for:
- a space in which the 1st and 3rd week of the local aspiring filmmakers (LAFs) workshop will take place, including all necessary details such as photos and videos of the space, any rental fees, and availability
- gear rentals we may need for the workshop (depending on what is already available in the workshop space)
- accommodations for project participants not living in Chefchaouen, including all necessary details such as photos and videos of the spaces, rates, noise levels, and availability
- restaurants or caterers for our group meals
- a space where we will be able to privately record and film the live music performance by Rhoum Bakkali (to be held in mid-October)
- a space for the end of the project (end of November) where we can host a public screening of the mini-documentaries made by the LAFs, and live music performances by Rhoum Bakkali’s ensemble and HAT
- Identify and recommend the best options in Chefchaouen for:
- October (1st week) - LAF Workshop
- Coordinate group meals during workshop with LAFs
- Be on call for any unforeseen logistical assistance
- Coordinate visits with the project director to the recommended locations for the mid-October private recording & filming session with Rhoum Bakkali’s ensemble
- Coordinate visits with the project director to the recommended locations for the end-of-November public screenings and live music performances.
- October (2nd week) - LAF film shoots
- Assist with identifying locations for the LAFs’ shoots, ensuring no permit issues
- Assist with and coordinate transportation of crew and gear to film shoot locations with filmmaking instructor and LAFs
- Coordinate group meals during film shoots with filmmaking instructor and LAFs
- October (2nd week): Music video shoot with the entire Remix ⟷ Culture team and Rhoum Bakkali’s ensemble
- Assist with and coordinate transportation of crew and gear to recording location with entire team and Rhoum Bakkali’s ensemble
- Coordinate group meals during recording session with entire team and Rhoum Bakkali’s ensemble
- October (3rd week): LAF editing mini-documentaries
- Coordinate group meals during workshop with LAFs
- Be on call for any unforeseen logistical assistance
- Late November: Return trip to Chefchaouen to prepare for the presentation of our work
- Assist with logistics related to producing the end-of-November public screenings and live music performances
- All phases of the project:
- collect ALL receipts for all expenses for which Remix ⟷ Culture is responsible for paying, and provide them to project director.

+ Requirements
- Must live in Chefchaouen, be knowledgeable of the inner-workings of the town and its people
- At least 1 year of experience with field production work on a film project
- Must have reliable cell phone service at all times, and be available to answer phone calls from the project director between 9am and 10pm
- Must be a pleasure to work with
- Must commit to a detailed schedule agreed upon with the project director prior to accepting the assignment
+ Preferred Qualifications
Fluent or semi-flent in French and/or English (in addition to Darija)
+ Compensation:
- 3000 Dirhams paid upon completion of work. Payment will be contingent on the filmmaker showing up and performing the work on every agreed-upon day
- Name credits in all films released by the project for which the field producer played a role
- 1 meal provided for each full day worked
